My Children's House of Hope
My Children’s House of Hope (Bahay Bata 127) is a non-profit organization committed to uplifting the vulnerable Filipino youth through education, empowerment, as well as tangible support. Through this holistic approach, we aim to break barriers, foster independence, and create opportunities for a brighter future.

Last March 27, the UST Volunteers for UNICEF went to My Children’s House of Hope Bahay Bata 127 to tutor grade 11 and 12 students from the Mother of Divine Grace Academy.

Sitting down in the receiving area and exchanging pleasantries before the start of the tutoring, the students - Aleyah, Marliez, Ekang, and Jackelyn - who are taking modular or online classes have highlighted what they saw as the pros and cons of their chosen mode of learning. Thus, the volunteers made it a goal to not only lend a helping hand but also to motivate the students on their academic tasks and impart them with learning that will last a lifetime.

In the four corners of a computer room, each student and volunteer were engrossed in their own tasks while sharing their knowledge and pouring in their experiences to come up with answers for their academic dilemmas. Ultimately, the volunteers and students had a productive day filled with melodic laughter and collaborative discussions. As one of the Rights of a Child, the Right to Quality Education, it was delightful to have upheld our mission and emphasized the importance of supporting children with their education. Bidding goodbye to the day, the volunteers went back to the campus, bringing home memories and newfound friendships.
