TYPE KITA: UVU BLOOD DRIVE is a project in partnership with Red Cross which aims to fulfill a shared objective of providing EAMC with enough blood products for children struggling with different blood conditions. While providing blood to the patients in need, blood donation also presents various health benefits to the donor so while you’re uplifting someone else’s health condition, you are also boosting your own. Donating blood is a form of volunteerism, an altruistic act that has psychological benefits. While a patient gets the help they need, the donor also gets to enjoy the physical and psychological health benefits of donating blood.
Blood donation is a voluntary procedure that has considerable health benefits but more importantly, it helps save lives. In this project, Thomasians are given the opportunity to practice true compassion and volunteerism by participating in the donation drive located within the UST campus in hopes of extending help for children admitted to the pediatric ward of EAMC.
Dates: Jan. 20-24 / March 9-11
