MAHIWAGA: Ang Madyik sa Wansapanataym ni Lola is a two-phase storytelling event that aims to teach elementary school children about Filipino values and traditions that are slowly fading away from our culture due to the sudden boom of technology. Through storytelling and activities, they are expected to fully grasp these lessons and embody their Filipino heritage to really know their identity. MAHIWAGA is held at Northville 4B Elementary School, which includes 30 participants from the partner community and 40 from the core team members of the organization. The event has a storytelling session with the children, a lunch break, and a few activities for the children. Through these activities, the children will be able to show their understanding of the story's lessons in a creative manner that makes them practice their freedom of expression. We hope that the children will learn much about their Filipino background compared to how our culture is influenced by technology and AI nowadays.
